MTL Vibes - Montreal Urban Scenes Paintings Project

In 2004, when I settled in Montreal, I immediately fell in love with this city booming with charm, hustle, adventure, and cultural life. The constant movement of people walking, cycling, jogging, and rushing everywhere has fascinated me ever since. It is a busy urban ecosystem balancing individual everyday lives with the city’s own rhythm. The “MTL Vibes” project (“Les Vibes de MTL” in French) involved many hours of strolling around Montreal’s streets and taking thousands of photos, being inspired and absorbed by its constant movement and “vibes”. I believe this project has special value, both artistically and has a visual “documentation” of the contemporary everyday life of young people in Montreal.
