The Musée d'art Contemporain de Montréal (The Montreal Contemporary Art Museum) is located in Quartier des Spectacles and is part of the Place des Arts complex. A billboard-size illuminated photo of giant red lips called “La Voie lactée”, (the Milky Way), by Geneviève Cadieux, perched high atop the museum and is visible day and night. Even when there are no big festivities going on (which is rare), the place is usually crowded with people working in nearby buildings, taking their lunch outside, relaxing on one of the benches, or strolling around the block. One autumn afternoon, this couple suddenly caught my attention, as they were walking in front of me, rushing somewhere while having a lively conversation. What might they be talking about? I really don’t know... I just waited for the perfect moment to press the camera button, capture this moment and create a painting of this interesting scene.
