Look, MTL!

Mount Royal Park is the most frequented park in Montreal with more than five million people visiting it every year. The popular Kondiaronk Belvedere lookout offers a fantastic view of Montreal’s downtown area, the St. Lawrence River, the many bridges crossing it to the South Shore, the Montérégie mountains, and plains in the background. On a clear day, even Vermont’s Green Mountains and New York State’s Adirondack mountains (over 100 kilometers away) are visible. 365 days per year, winter, spring, summer and fall, the lookout is always crowded with locals and tourists, taking a pause from everyday life or visiting it to admire the view and take photos and selfies. This painting captures one of these moments, which is so representative of this place.
