Basilique Notre-Dame

Place d’armes, an architecturally-rich square surrounded by lavish Art Deco buildings and facing the magnificent Notre-Dame Basilica cathedral, is probably one of the most visited and photographed sites in Montreal. One late autumn afternoon, while visiting the old Montreal area, I stopped, as usual, to admire the beautiful architecture of the Basilica and the surrounding tall buildings. When I saw this couple with their Bixi bikes taking a break, looking around them and snapping photos, I thought to myself, what a marvelous moment to be captured; people and their surroundings.
