Urban Splash
Mid-September, I took a walk on Boulevard Saint-Denis towards the Quartier Latin, when I came across this colorful mural, located between Rue Ontario and Rue Émery. Created by pop artist XRAY, this mural represents the variety of cultural activities available in this trendy neighborhood, with its collage, pop art elements style. The location, between two ornate French bourgeoisie-style old houses, makes the combination of this modern pop art mural and its surroundings unique. The old architecture, that particular day, under a grey sky, made the mural’s colors even more vivid. A cyclist leisurely passed by, while a young woman walked her dog, giving this fleeting moment special charm.
